Phoebe is company owner and founder of Cirque de Silk. Her dream has always been to run her own aerial school, with a lot of dedication and hard work she is delighted it has come true. She has been a professional aerialist, circus performer and teacher since 2014. Her extensive training in Outdoor Arts BA (Hons) and Aerial Professional courses at Gravity Circus, Rouge Play and Aerial Southampton has led to her career in aerial arts. Phoebe has received funding awards from The Prince’s Trust and Winchester University for her successful business proposals.
Phoebe’s style in the air has a dynamic flare combined with strong and fluid transitions. Her performance portfolio has kept audiences captivated around the UK, and Asia. Phoebe’s extensive performing portfolio includes but not limited too; Glastonbury Festival, Hurlingham Club London, Bristol Beacon and many more. Her main aerial love lies with aerial rope (corde lisse) closely followed by aerial silks.
Phoebe’s passion for aerial arts has evolved over the years leading her down the path of qualifications within the fitness industry and teaching. She’s worked alongside physio’s, sport physio practitioners and masseuses to incorporate safe training into her practice and teaching. After finding her devotion to the gym and how that can help flourish aerial training and prevent injuries, she’s now qualified as a Level 3 Personal Trainer and Level 2 Gym Instructor. She’s fascinated with the human body and its capabilities, alongside the impact of aerial training on our physical and mental wellbeing. In her free time she loves to travel in her self converted campervan, spend the weekends hiking, wild swimming and being outdoors in nature.
Jemma has been part of the aerial teaching team at Cirque De Silk for 4 years, specialising in aerial silks. Her journey began with a background in dance and gymnastics and discovered the amazing world of circus arts after attending aerial classes herself. After completing aerial teaching qualifications, her role soon developed into aerial instructor and children’s class manager at Cirque De Silk. Alongside teaching, Jemma is a professional performer, you can find her doing flowy sequences, splitty shapes and lots of dramatic drops and spins! Jemma helps with lots of events and leading workshops and intensives, her career highlights include workshops at leading independent schools and dance colleges, a professional circus development program at NCCA London and even taken her training to South East Asia. When not in the air, Jemma enjoys yoga, hula hoop and poi, most recently honing her skills spinning fire! Aerial arts brings a wealth of mental and physical benefits that Jemma values and instills in her work – she is grateful for the wonderful opportunities and lifelong friends she has made on this journey and wishes to share this with everyone!
Talulah Bluebell is a versatile and accomplished multidisciplinary artist, performer, and educator with a strong focus on aerial arts. Her journey began in gymnastics, art, and drama, laying a foundation for a dynamic career in the Arts. Since discovering aerial arts in 2019, Talulah has rapidly advanced to mastering complex aerial hoop techniques, driven by her passion and self-motivation.
After completing an Aerial Apprenticeship in 2021, Talulah joined Cirque de Silk as both a performer and teacher. Her performances are celebrated for their dramatic flips and dynamic spinning sequences, and her distinctive approach to makeup, costumes, and character work. Talulah is particularly skilled in decor and sets, creating immersive experiences, as seen in her fairy-themed aerial installations for Millfield School’s Enchanted Forest series.
Her extensive performance portfolio includes appearances at events such as the Cirque de Silk Showcases, Secret Garden Party, Boomtown Festival, and a BBC charity event at Loco Club. Beyond performing, Talulah is involved in the aerial arts community, teaching workshops at festivals and retreats like the Big Retreat Festival and Aerial Wilderness Retreat.
In addition to her aerial expertise, Talulah is expanding her repertoire to include floor-based skills. She also manages social media for Cirque de Silk, produces content for fellow aerialists, directs photoshoots, and teaches art. Her entrepreneurial spirit is evident in her co-founding of Ethereality, an organization dedicated to creating immersive, expansive events that foster creativity, community, movement, and well-being.
At the heart of Talulah’s work is a desire to inspire others, helping them discover their passions and follow their dreams, while ensuring that everyone can access the transformative power of creativity.
Hettie started aerial hoop at university as a hobby but it quickly became an all out obsession and over the past five years she has been finding any excuse to learn new ways to be in the air. During lockdown when studios were shut she picked up flexibility training and applies this to the air, finding unique shapes. Hettie completed her aerial hoop teaching qualification with X-pert in 2021, followed by her aerial silks teacher training course with Cirque de Silk in 2022. After completing aerial hoop and silks teaching qualifications, Hettie discovered her passion for sharing her knowledge with students. She loves to teach students of all levels and help them reach their goals! Hettie has previously performed at our annual showcases, Temple Cloud Circus Show and many local community events. She also gained first place in her category in the South West Aerial Championships in 2024.
Asha is a contemporary dance and aerial artist based in the South-West England.
She studied Dance Performance at Middlesex University and since 2020 has been performing and teaching contemporary dance and aerial arts. She has gained her certificates in teacher training in both aerial silks in 2023 and gained her aerial hoop teacher training at Studio Essence in 2024, she loves to train and shares her new discoveries and creativity through working at Cirque De Silk as a quest dance teacher and teaching children’s to adults classes.
From collaborating with production companies from outdoor installations, museums, SEN education, theatre based, intensive workshops and community outreach engagement productions is where she explores ways to engage with the audience and move together.
AshaDanse allows anybody to join and share their creative movement and unlock the individualities in a fun and creative space. Fun fact about Asha: she grew up in Japan before moving to the UK in her early teens. In her spare time she loves cooking for friends and family.
Joanna provides administrative support to Cirque de Silk as a Virtual Assistant. She has over ten years of experience as an office administrator, secretary and PA. She is based in the West Country, working with creatives and small independent businesses. She has been working with Cirque de Silk for 3 years now and helps behind the scenes to ensure the running of the business is seamless!
Emma’s aerial journey is influenced with yoga and circus flow. She brings the core strength and energy from my yoga practice into my aerial training and teaching. Emma completed her Aerial Beginner hoop teacher training with Spin City in 2024 alongside completing her yoga teacher training with Yoga Alliance Teacher Training in 2022 and Rainbow Kids Yoga Teacher Training in 2019.
Emma has been teaching our circus workshop’s on our holiday clubs for the past 3 years. She has an extensive knowledge in ground based circus skills when she first got introduced into the circus industry in Edinburgh a circus troupe called Te Pooka. She teaches workshops in hula hooping, poi spinning, spinning plates, diablo, stilt walking and more!
Alongside this Emma has also worked on decor teams in the Kidz Field at Glastonbury Festival and at Womad Festival. You may see some of her decor or facepainting in our annual showcases!
Emma absolutely loves the holistic process of body, mind and spirit that the aerial arts offers.
