We have a range of classes which take place at our studio, The Aerial Attic. We combine aerial arts with yoga, stretch, handstands, and circus skills! So if you don’t fancy going upside down but want a calming morning yoga session we can cater for you.
We run sessions for Kids, Juniors & Adults with a variety of ability classes available.
Following the government guidelines we will be open for private tuition & self-practice from the 12th April – 16th May. You can now book on our teamup page, please send us an email if there is a time you would like outside of our timetable.
We will resume group classes for kids and adults from the 17th May, bookings for group classes will be available to book from Monday 10th May. Please use our teamup account for bookings.
Our aerial silks class is definitely our most popular class!
Aerial silks is a circus and gymnastics art where you’re suspended in the air by two lengths of fabric rigged from a high point. Your body wraps and knots around the fabric whilst striking incredible positions and drops. If you have a background in dance, fitness or gymnastics you will be able to transfer these skills into the air. We must add, no previous experience is needed to attend our class, as we will guide you step by step from the very beginning. It can be hard work but so rewarding and VERY addictive!
Aerial Hoop also known as aerial lyra is a suspended steel hoop in the air which our students make beautiful elegant positions on. Not only can you look glamorous striking shapes on the hoop you can also try daring drops and spinning work. Hoop is a good place to start as a beginner into aerial, as once you’re up and in the hoop you can stay there! Saying this, there is plenty of room for improvement and development with hoop and you’ll see some of our advanced aerialists on a hoop in our showcases!
If you fancy something a bit more slow paced and less intense on your body our yoga and stretch classes are for you! This class is a mixture of slow postures, breath work, and deep stretches. It is a chance for you to step away from the manic, fast paced life we are all living and have time to reflect and re-energise. Our stretch classes are more aimed at aerial students focusing on shoulders, forearms, and split stretches. Whereas our yoga classes are a more all rounded session in a full body flow, accompanied by meditative breath work.
Have you always wanted to be able to handstand unassisted from a teacher or a wall?! Well now is your chance to learn all the correct technique and gain the confidence to hold your own handstand solo. With a high intensity warm up, followed by floor conditioning to equip you for your handstand alignment. You’ll then spend the last part of the class drilling handstands and finishing with a stretch.
Always dreamt of learning to juggle, spin a plate or maybe even to hula hoop? Our youth circus club is a perfect balance of play and technique. The teacher will focus each 4 week course on one piece of equipment, allowing the students to perfect their skill before moving on. We have a small class sizes allowing much more 1-1 feedback from the teacher, and use of the equipment for the whole hour. Courses will be on hula hooping, juggling, diabolo, poi, and more! Not only will we be focusing on skill development there will be a chance for our students to create their own choreography for our student showcases.
Fitness Pilates combines traditional Pilates exercises with new developments in stretching techniques and physio rehabilitation, giving a full body approach to exercise. Sessions will focus on strength, stability, mobility and flexibility of the muscles and joints whilst improving posture, core strength and co-ordination.
These friendly sessions are suitable for beginners through to seasoned Pilates fans with individuals encouraged to work at their own speed and ability, whilst concentrating on the areas they most want to improve – ideal for those returning to exercise from injury or rest to those wanting to improve their overall physical fitness.
Please bring your own yoga/pilates mat.
